Powering Local Events with Solar

powering local events with solar

HES Solar found a new way to help the community go green by powering local events with solar this summer. H.E.S. helped the North Park Community Association (NPCA) by powering their summer concert series with a portal solar trailer. Hundreds of families and community members came out every other Saturday throughout the summer to enjoy the sun. The NPCA Summer Concert Series had a fun, family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of music styles. H.E.S Solar jumped at the opportunity to support the San Diego community and powering local events could not have been more successful.

On the stage

From jazz brass bands to swing music and a local alternative band, H.E.S. Solar powered it all this summer. Community members and families came out to enjoy the San Diego weather and easy listening music at Bird Park in San Diego. H.E.S. Solar was excited to share the power of the sun all summer long. H.E.S. Solar has always been one to try new and innovated ideas. The NPCA Summer Concert Series was just a trial run to see just how much H.E.S. Solar can power with energy harnessed from the sun. From day one every concert when perfectly. There was no electrical or power issues, even on days when the sun was hidden by clouds. H.E.S. solar is always looking to get more involved in the San Diego community whether is is educating people on the benefits of renewable energy or simply powering some local events and entertainment, HES Solar wants to help!

Portable storage trailer

HES Solar's transportable solar trailer brought the power to the concert. Using the summer sun, the solar panels, which are mounted on top of the trailer, charged eight lithium
batteries. As long as the sun was in the sky the solar batteries were constantly charging. These batteries output the energy generated from the sun to power the stage, microphones, speakers, and more. On a full charge the batteries were able to provide at least four hours of uninterrupted music. If the sun is still out the batteries can last as long as power is needed. The noise and fumes produced by a typical generator were eliminated through the power of solar and over 500 people were able to enjoy music all evening long.

H.E.S. Solar wanted to bring awareness to the North Park community on the benefits of renewable energy, while supporting local businesses and community members. H.E.S Solar has been bringing solar power to the San Diego community since 2001 and was excited to provide the local community with live music and summer fun. Solar power is no longer limited to powering residential and business buildings, the possibilities have become almost endless with H.E.S Solar’s solar powered portable batteries.

H.E.S. Solar would like to do a lot more of these kinds of events, supporting local community and promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources.
